These days seems like everybody you meet is in the game in some way or another and if they aint, they are about to get into it. Why all of a sudden over the last several years does every joe schmoe and every long legged gal think they got what it takes to bring it in this game? To me the answer is simple man. They aint that much to look up to and the bar has been lowered and not raised. That having been said (and i trust i wont get any arguments on that one) Most of you need to look in the mirror man and come again.
Man it never fails to amaze me as i cruise round London how many hootchie mamma's out there think they look good with there belly hanging out or some bogus tatoo on their butt. Just because it works for some don't mean you look good in it. Bitch get a mirror or a friend that can see!
The music game seems to be going the same way man. Man back in the days most people would have been told point blank 'Singing or rapping aint for you man, go get and education or join the army!' Things have changed now man and anybody who is anybody feels they can ride this shit.
Now I aint no hater and I aint no dream fucker man. If you wanna sing, Sing. If you wanna dance, dance. If you wanna rap, rap. But if you aint no good at it spare the rest of us man from your shit! There are real nigga's out there man with talent applying their trade doing the do day in day out year after year. Lets face it Doing the do is most often times a god given talent. After that you need the hard work and some serious luck man. You don't wake up one morning sing in the shower and then turn up on my doorstep tellin me you can sing or rap.
Back in the days for those of you that can remember there was a tune called ' No romance without finance' well i would like to take that theme and say No success without hard work'
Shows like American Idol and Fame Academy and now the X Factor make this whole game seem simple and quick. Within a few months of doing an audition someone will be a household name and in the charts, but don't get it twisted that person still has to pay thier dues one way or the other. There aint no way around it.
Now some of you cats might remember Saturday Night at the Appollo - Now that was a talent show and it brought us some real artist who have stood the test of time. Can you imagine the reception 99.% of these pop idol fools would get on a show like this? Man that would be something to see. Cause with a show like that they really took no prisoners and there where no second chances.
If you stayed with me so far you maybe wondering what the point of all this...... well its simple. If you are gonna read my blog or write in to my blog you best be fo real cause this is the real shit! I aint interested in anybody that aint shooting from the hip and coming correct. I aint interested in anybody asking me questions or getting into this game who don't wanna bleed for the cause. And I aint interested in anybody whos looking for some easy answers or quick clues as to how this game works, cause there aint any. I'm gonna spit at you like my raps, raw and real with humour and I'm gonna fill you in on the life and times of the Eagle.
Best know now, people are gonna get hurt on this Blog man. Ego's are gonna get busted and I'm gonna cut to the bone when i spill it. I'm not gonna hold back on myself either so if I fuck up I'm gonna tell that too.
